Proper interpretation of the CBC and leukogram patterns is key in the diagnostic work-up of sick patients. Sensitive detection and trending of inflammation provides critical feedback to the clinician as to efficacy of treatment or progression of disease. Identification of reactivity and cellular atypia provides further insight into underlying disease processes and frequently drives ancillary diagnostics, including more advanced labwork and imaging. Cases will be presented by a paired Clinical Pathologist and Internal Medicine VTS to highlight the contributions of each team member.
